Our tour will start with a visit to the beautiful Piazza del Duomo with its Cathedral built in the 13th century and masterpiece of the Florentine gothic architecture. Walking through the narrow streets of the city center, we will see the ancient tower houses where the florentines lived, and where also lived the great poet Dante Alighieri.
You’ll have the possibility to discover how Florence became so rich and important… to become the capital of the empire of the Medici family and the city where the Renaissance started. We will end the tour with a visit to Palazzo Vecchio, the imposing medieval fortress of the government of the ancient Florentine Republic. Every stone of Palazzo Vecchio tells us about the history of Florence; all the most important governors have lived here. Crossing the magnificent apartments belonged to the grand ducal family , the monumental Hall of the Five-hundred ( Salone dei Cinquecento) and the extraordinary room of the Geographic Papers we’ll admire the richness of the Medici court in the wonderful frescoes and in the fine decorations enjoying a wonderful experience going back in history.
Entry fees to the Palazzo Vecchio are additional and are to be paid by the client at the site.
